About Us

Compton Primary School is a small, caring and supportive community of learning committed to shared values and collaborative partnerships between staff, parents and children.

We have a strong student government system including an executive committee, junior coaches, buddy system, school captains and community groups. We have a high involvement in online learning and IT. Dance and drama are specialised across the school.

Other special programs include music, Learning Assistance Program, Quality Start, Leadership, Active After School and Small School Hub Network. We hold performances throughout the year including an annual music production; we participate in the Christmas Parade and enter exhibits for the Mt Gambier Show.

We are part of the Mt Gambier District School Sports Association and have an active sport program, including participation in Auskick and sporting carnivals. We are actively involved in a number of joint programs including Leadership Days, teacher curriculum planning with other small schools, biennial Canberra trip for Years 6/7 and a district schools sports day. Enrolments over the past two years have increased and this trend is likely to continue.
